Review of Shadow of a Doubt (1943) by Marita L — 21 Apr 2010
Really nicely done Hitchcock movie with good acting by the leads and good cinematography. Slightly dated by today's standards (e.g. depictions of small town life), but definitely a watchable film.
I read that many film goers at the time were unhappy with Joseph Cotten playing against type (a somewhat ominous role). But, Cotten definitely does give a good performance in this movie.
The director calls this film his favorite, and it should definitely be a must-see for any fans of Alfred Hitchcock.
