Review of Shadow of a Doubt (1943) by Ethan R — 31 Aug 2013
Hypnotic, multi-layered film filled with rich, nuanced scenes, populated by one terrific performance after another: Collinge's poignant monologue about her brother. Cotten's cold-blooded assessment of widows, punctuated by a claustrophobic close-up.
Wright's helplessness & despair at her growing awareness & horror. A must see requiring multiple viewings.
