Review of Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017) by Nymphadora W — 13 Jan 2018
This one is a surprisingly coherent movie. The trailer made me ask why is Rajkummar Rao in this! The thing is the trailer doesn't do justice to the movie at all. So, the execution is not exactly smooth but the story surprisingly makes so much sense.
Normally such stories go all over the place, but this one doesn't. This is the first revenge saga where 'revenge' is actually achieved. There is like a point by point harm done by one person to another person, just like the other person had done to them and there are no murders and kidnappings and heavy dialogues involved.
The use of gun in the first half is so at the right time right place that for the first time it makes sense to me to have a gun in a wedding. The whole second half story is something that I have never seen in a movie before and it's controlled and never blows out of proportion.
There is civil services involved and the plot points concerning them remain within the peripheries of what is possible rather than doing any random shit just because this is a movie. To be honest it's a good story, but the script not so tight, screenplay not edited enough and it shows that the director hasn't had too much experience.
