Not for everyone but very underrated. Actually, it predicted the rise of music videos. It didn't fall into the accepted notion of what a musical should be at the time.
The plot is unimportant. Only the music and the visuals.
The cover versions of Beatles tunes by artists like Frampton, Cooper and Aerosmyth are good and the soundtrack album was popular and still sells well. If you think of it as a 96 min. music video and not as a musical along the lines of, Oh lets say " Grease". You might enjoy it.
