Review of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978) by Justin S — 12 Jun 2012
Let's be fair here, The Bee Gees are a great group which is a shame they became marginalized as basically a 1970s band even though they fail to acknowledge the band's back catalog out side of "I Started a Joke", "Staying Alive" and "More Than A Woman".
As for this film, It's a fun yet trippy good time while to some it's a disservice to The Beatles but let's be honest here -- compared to "Across The Universe", Sgt. Pepper did a better homage to The Beatles then ATU will ever do.
I'm aware the covers are hit and miss but they are fun to listen to compared to that on Across The Universe's OST.
To sum it up, Avoid "Across The Universe" and watch this film!
