What's funny about the reviews I've read about this movie is that people complain about Steve Martin as if he's just recently doing movies like this...well the truth is that this is Steve Martin's style.
..not too much comedy, not too much regular life, but a happy mix. Sure you probably won't see a comedy classic Steve Martin movie, outside of the Jerk, but his movies definitely make you laugh. The man is a comedy legend, just enjoy the movies and quit complaining about them as if you could do better, because if you could you'd be doing so right now.
