Review of Sexy Beast (2001) by Bill C — 06 Oct 2010

If you, like me, think you have your mind around where this film is going before you watch it your wrong. It's a very detailed character study sociopathic (not in a cliché kind-a way) thieves where the heist itself is a very small part of the plot.

Ray Winstone is the point of access for the audience. He's not the brains of the operation, more than less the muscle. The engine of the movie is the psychotic Ben Kingsley. His knife edgy portrayal of a psyco-bad guy is just indescribable, lest when he's on the set all the other characters and audience are stuck like a deer in the headlamps.

Definitely worth a watch the parts without Kingsley are interesting and a little off beat but as soon as he enters the set he sets the tone.
