Review of Sexy Beast (2001) by Zak S — 06 May 2013

This is one fine, fine, FINE piece of cinema. I love it. Amazing performances all around. Ben Kingsley definitely earns his Oscar nomination. So great. Juicy style. Mmmmm. It's beautifully photographed and skillfully directed, but the story and writing are what really make this a unique film.

I love this take on the heist film. It's something I haven't seen before, and it works so, so well. Sexy Beast is definitely one of my new favorite films. So glad to have finally experienced it in all its glory.

Next step: catch a 35mm print screening in theaters. Oh god. Oh man. Oh geez. [5/5 STARS] [050613].
