Review of sex, lies, and videotape (1989) by Codie E — 11 Oct 2008
A masterpiece that Soderbergh has never been able to top. The script is brilliant; restrained, mannered, simple and deep. And on top of the script, Soderbergh coaxes career best performances by all of the cast, mannifesting his ideas and theories.
The quiet intensity and concentration of the exchanges wring so brutal, beautiful and honest.
