It's easier to get physically naked than it is to reveal yourself emotionally and psychologically to someone.
Soderbergh does a wonderfully patient job of allowing these characters to expose themselves. Long takes and running dialogue may test the tolerance of some viewers but, for the most part, it's a trip worth taking.
Only real criticism I have is that Gallagher's character is as dim as he is as to the ramifications his behavior will eventually have on his career but, as a ex-girlfriend once said, men think with their...
