Review of sex, lies, and videotape (1989) by Paul O — 22 Jan 2012
Steven Soderbergh's first film (which he both wrote and directed) is undoubtedly one of his best. The performances from all involved are excellent, notably from James Spader and Andie MacDowell. The film is honest and authentic in its look at obsession, showing how people really act and what motivates them, a testament to the cast and a strong script, guided by direction from Soderbergh that always keeps the film engaging.
4/5 Stars.
