Review of sex, lies, and videotape (1989) by Ky K — 30 May 2013
The great Steven Soderbergh made his debut with sex, lies, and videotape in 1989. The movie was ground-breaking for indie films- a dark, insightful vision of voyeurism. The movie has proven to be prophetic: nearly a decade later, in the world of reality television, the movie is even more relevant, as society seems more sexually hollow and voyeuristic than ever.
It doesn't hurt that the movie is perfectly written, complex, and has inspired performances. If you have not seen this film watch it and enjoy.
