Review of Sex Ed (2014) by Jackie A — 14 Nov 2014
I thought director Isaac Feder does a great job creating a well-rounded comedy film. Haley Joel Osment's character is funny and awkward, but the way he sticks to his beliefs in the face of adversity and his passion for teaching and education makes him personable.
The importance of sexual health and education courses for young people is one of the central issues of the film, which makes the plot more dynamic and interesting. Feder is able to speak to the issue from both sides of the argument at different points throughout the film, and manages to maintain the subject's overall importance.
Overall the film is well-cast, with each character having a moment to shine, and the story is unique while still remaining true to the genre. It is a raunchy comedy with a different and more varied voice, which makes the film very much worth the watch.
