Review of Sex Drive (2008) by Sheng G — 24 Oct 2009

Doesn't stray far from the beaten path at all, but when it decides to be funny, it's top-notch. Some of the jokes are practically bulletproof, and I expect them to hold up very well on a second or third viewing.

The rest of the film is standard to a fault - ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous, and with a freakishly common plot sequence. Then again, that's not why we watch these sorts of things, so it's hard to be disappointed about that.

Also, if you're a big movie buff, check the early end credits for a great inside joke on James Marsden.
