Sex Drive is a Road Trip about a guy like from the American Pie that is desperate to lose his virginity for a voluptuous girl from the Internet. As simple as that, this film shares a lot like those two teen-sex comedies which turns out to be mainly approved. I called this film as Road Trip because, well, the plot is to embark on a deflowering situation for a girl that the character Ian (Josh Zuckerman) met via chat only God knows how long. And American Pie because of two reasons; the Ian character fits perfectly for Jason Biggs to cast for and his character sounds like making a pact for himself, or better by his guts. No matter where you compare it for, it seems half of which you do assess it might fit its description.

Ian like I said is meeting this chic on the web namely Ms. Tasty (Katrina Bowden), and we even see their chat logs. When the latter insisted for getting in touch with the boy, you know she made Ian complete for the night. Not to mention fantasizing with her or wet dreams. And here comes the downside, or better yet the punster one. Guess.. is he Evel Knievel? Or perhaps Steve McQueen? Whoever he is, he seemed imitating them on their other side. James Marsden is that man as Rex. He was Ian's brother that owns his only chic muscle car that is soon needed by his little brother for that "drive". He sure steals half of the film, and those are the moments I laughed at most of the time. It's so good to see his comic side unlike X-Men but his wholeness as a funny actor.

What about protagonist? Is it Ian's 14 year old brother? Well, maybe Ian is getting unassertive because of his little brother getting his ex. That is the foundation for Ian's problem for sexual energy. Maybe Ian's getting ready for it. But this good'ol boy has just cock blocked him. Now, Ian is ready to round up the gang.

Ian's other friends, Lance (Clark Duke) and Felicia (Amanda Crew) is on for a Road Trip. Man, I hope Breckin Meyer is with them. The pit stop on this film has plenty of perhaps urging libido moments from the characters; examples are pee-pee on the radiator where David Koechner as a hobo but acts as a wit psychopath, Seth Green as a red neck from the south, and few gay characters when nature calls. Lastly about Felicia, she must've been looking for a perfect guy that maybe lied about when she and Ian were conversing about.

This film is directed by Sean Anders and written along with John Morris. Pitching this kind of screenplay is like a naivete from feeling cocky from other teen-sex comedies. Because there's nothing serious about the story. If it ever offend you on some occasions, better you should just leave it be. Sex Drive couldn't be the best comedy of neither year nor month. But for a DVD rental or an orgy for a Saturday night, just pick this poison for your libido.
