Review of Sex and the City (2008) by Joanna R — 21 Apr 2011
Honestly, what were people expecting? By the same token, what was I expecting? To be fair, I really enjoyed the first season of Sex and the City. I thought it was cool and very clever, balancing enough mature age female humor with drama and plot.
As the seasons went on, there was less real plot and more 'over the top' drama and the comedy started to loose me bit by bit. I was out of the story by season 3, so when I came to the movie, nothing had really changed all that much.
Yet, Sex and the City just was so pointless. Was there really a need for this film a part from grabbing more money? The plot is so paper thin and the dialogue feels like it is glued on by fifteen year old school girls writing their first drama script.
Every actor in this film is either past their prime or just sleep walking through their roles because it is clear they know how terrible this film is. Honestly there is nothing good about this film, it's empty beyond the beyond of caring and boards on insulting to men and women everywhere.
What a waste of millions of dollars and hours of people's lives.
