Review of Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010) by Rio F — 11 Jan 2010
Ian dury wasthe lead singer of the blockheads a band formed in 70s england, and at a early age struck down by polio, andy serkis, captures the man and his ways, from his days trying to make it, his loves in his life, andeventuallfame, all thewhile coping with his condition, serkis is pretty good here, ive never been a fan of durys music, but this was entertaining and informative, the style is also welldone, capturing the mood, with dreamlike flashbacks, and comic animation going with scenes showing time, also flashbacks going back to durys childhood, are well handled.
one minor fault, although nothing to do with the film it self, less than a year after bronson, astyle to showdury telling story, seems familier, but get past that, its a little thing, aentertaining british film for start of the year.
