Review of Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010) by Matt F — 01 Feb 2011
The first half concentrates on the more negative aspects of Dury's life, presented in an overly wacky way that I was beginning to find alienating. However, the second half brought forward more of his humanity, and a calmer style.
The main reason to see this is Serkis's fantastic performance, even nailing Dury's vocals. I'm glad I saw it, but ultimately I can't say I learned much about the man or his music.
