Review of Sex and Death 101 (2007) by Chris G — 08 Aug 2009
An amusing, if somewhat misogynistic film where a guy, just before his marriage, receives a mysterious list of 101 women he has had, or has still to have sex with. The wedding is off and the sexual encounters ensue, ticking pretty much every male fantasy along the way as our guy rapidly exhausts his list.
But, of course, there is a sting in the tale in the shape of Winona Ryder's man hating serial killer, who happens to be number 101 on the list... Ultimately the film falters about two thirds of the way through and limps to an unsatisfying conclusion.
Wonderful to see Winona back on the screen, though hopefully some better roles will find her in the future.
