Review of Sex and Death 101 (2007) by Andy W — 06 Oct 2009
Eeeeeeeeek! The sound of a car-crash movie! From the writer of Heathers, this is an 'existential' comedy i.e. makes no sense and isn't funny in the slightest, its easy to see why Winona signed up: She wants to tap into that Heathers magic, but alas the script is badly constructed, unintelligent, trying to be adult but just plain sleazy nonsense.
Simon Baker is surprisingly watchable, and no doubt he had fun making this film, but it really is just a waste of everyone's time. There's plenty of talent at work, but the end result is a film school student's first year movie.
Winona, this is not the way to get your career back on track.
