Review of Severance (2006) by Timothy B — 11 Apr 2012
Severance is a type of film I usually donâ(TM)t often go out of my way to watch, however I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the film. At the start I didnâ(TM)t expect to enjoy it that much, but gradually got into it, actually liking the characters.
Iâ(TM)m not a wonderful fan of Danny Dyer, I usually cannot stand him at all, however I actually didnâ(TM)t mind him in this, but my favourite characters turned out to be Toby Stephens as Harris, a slight ass, and Laura Harris truly ruled the roost in this film, fighting back the most and playing the most interesting character.
The bad guys werenâ(TM)t given any back-story apart from slight hints, which actually added to the film well, making them uncomfortable to see. One of the most interesting scenes was when a decapitated head was shown to still be alive, a very impressive moment.
Well worth a look, I can see why itâ(TM)s a huge cult film, but not completely for me.
