Review of Seven Years in Tibet (1997) by Ryan H — 20 Mar 2011
I first saw this film in 1999. I had to write a summary on the film for English literacy class. This is a good film. It is based on a true story. It does drag in areas. The scenery in the movie is breathtaking.
Brad Pitt does an excellent job as Heinrich Harrer an Austrian mountaineer who leaves his wife and unborn son to go on an expendition to the Himalayas. He is imprisioned in India and receives divorce papers from his wife.
He continues his journey to Tibet where he befriends a young Dai Lama. This movie is not for everyone, but if you are a Brad Pitt fan check it out.
