Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Andrew J — 09 Dec 2010

I saw this with Samurai 7 fresh in mind, and for that had an even better experience! Through this, I knew of the characters and the main plot was mostly similar. Very cool picking out the exact phrases that were carried over and how they weighed differently in each version. Can't find anything not to like here... it even get extra Badass Points for having an intersession (I used it to harvest rice and teach the peasants to fight with bamboo pikes).

This would be nice to have on blu-ray, especially sitting next to The Seventh Seal... and/or Speed Racer.
