Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Francis Rhoan L — 25 Jun 2012
A 1954 film about samurais defending a small farming village in the 16th century japan. this was not an easy task for a modern viewer like me to finish the whole movie for 3 1/2 hours, but then I get along as this classic film is full of entertainment and intricate details.
actors and actresses can really do there thing in drama scenes, it was a surprise for me. as to the action scene, well, there was a minor flaw but since the movie was shot limited by its time, that flaw is forgiven.
in everything about this movie, seven samurai is indeed considered as one of the treasured films in japan, I have to agree on what others said about this film. I have seen worse (movies), seven samurai can even go head to head with some modern movies today (seriously).
