Review of Seven Samurai (1954) by Udit C — 05 Apr 2013

If you've ever wondered how the stereotype of gathering troops, forming an alliance and saving a whole faction came into being. This is where almost 80% of the movies draw their inspiration from. Be it the plot, narrative or even the characters. From Ocean's 11 to Bollywood's Sholay... None of them would happen had it not been for this masterpiece.

Also, the first movie that I felt deserved all 5 stars.

Beautifully written, with wonderfully drawn characters all unique and well developed. I had this movie on my hard disk for 4 years now and I feel stupid not to have watched it earlier. Oh well, better late than never.
