Review of Seven Psychopaths (2012) by Facebook U — 19 Jan 2015
Seven Psychopaths is a hilarious, gleefully violent crime film with plenty of cool dialogue and amazing performances. Providing what is in my opinion the best script of 2012, this film was able to have me belly laughing a few times, particularly the scene where Sam Rockwell was pitching his screenplay ideas at the camp fire.
Be warned though, this is a BLACK COMEDY, meaning most of the humor is pretty dark. Almost all the violence is played for laughs though, and the film doesn't take itself too serious, but I can still see people getting disturbed.
The movie reminded me a lot of Pulp Fiction because of it's use of witty dialogue, excessive violence, dark humor, and the fact that's it's so damn entertaining it feels like a 15 minute movie.
Whether gangster films are your thing or not, I don't see how you couldn't like this.
