Martin McDonaugh's In Bruges was one of the best films of 2008. His follow up Seven Psychopaths is even more violent and entertaining, so much that even Quentin Tarantino has to applaud the great mix of violence and humor.

The real highlight of this movie is the performances. Collin Farrel, an actor I hate, isn't annoying as he usually is and delivers a decent performance. It doesn't come close to his turn in In Bruges, but I works. Christopher Walken is fantastic in his delivery of lines and gives one of his best performances in years. Sam Rockwell was snubbed of an Academy Award here. No other actor I can think of did a better job in 2012 that Rockwell did here. He chews up the screen in every scene he is in. Throw in a solid Woody Harrelsen and a fittingly bizarre Tom Waits, and you have a picture perfect cast.

One of the best things about In Bruges was the dialog, and Seven Psychopaths delivers a whole heap of wit with its dialog. The number of hilarious quotes is uncountable, ranging from so subtle you don't even notice to wild in your face laughs. One of the most memorable and hilarious scenes is Rockwell's description of a graveyard shootout, a scene so funny you'll have to pause the movie to stop laughing.

This isn't the masterpiece that In Bruges was, but it is definitely as wild and entertaining. You'll be laughing frequently and blown away by the superb performances.
