Review of Seven Pounds (2008) by Oliverb. — 08 Jan 2009
I don't know how people who watched this movie can give it a bad rating. It is probably the best movie in recent years (have I ever seen a better one?). Yes, the story may seem far-fetched, but it is told in such an incredible manner, that you won't know until the end.
My girlfriend was crying a lot during the second half of the movie, and I was trying hard to keep my tears from flowing and comfort her. Will Smith and, especially Rosario Dawson, are just amazing to watch, but that's not the main point.
I am no Will Smith fan, but after seeing this movie I have to admit he is a great actor. The main point is idea of this movie, that is only fully revealed in the end (if you're good at guessing movie plots, you might know around the middle, not earlier).
Amazing, amazing, amazing! A movie about the human spirit and the infirmity of life.
