Review of Seven Pounds (2008) by Ash V — 18 Nov 2013
While I can understand where the critical panning of this film stems from, I don't think it is deserved. Yes, it's sentimental. Yes, the premise (when it's revealed) shows a little selfishness on the main character's behalf, but it didn't stop me from being overwhelmingly moved, not just by the ending, but throughout the movie. People are selfish sometimes! That makes it realistic, not a bad movie!
Unlike others, the reveal wasn't such a surprise to me, but the scene between Dawson & Harrelson was super.
Absolutely loved it. Get off your high horses critics.
