Review of Seven Pounds (2008) by Ian P — 24 Nov 2011
I'll begin by saying that like others who have reviewed this film, I disagree with the critics. I'm not sure why they've tended to speak of this film as a mystery because its certainly not one.
What 7 Pounds is, is the story of one man's struggle with himself, specifically his past. The key to this film is Smith and his character. If you accept and connect with character, you'll be drawn into this film and enjoy it.
If not, then not so much. In my opinion, Smith gives a great performance and allows 7 Pounds to be a touching, heartwarming film.
