Review of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) by Michael K — 24 Mar 2008
Despite its now dated premise (seven brothers marry women they hardly know, six of them after kidnapping them and holding them essentially hostage in the mountains of Oregon), this is one of the greatest film musicals of all time! The barn-raising sequence alone is one of the best dance sequences ever put on film.
Simply perfect!
