Review of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) by Sal L — 13 Dec 2008
I remember seeing this in about '77 as a 7 year old boy. I imagined Jane Powell as my first wife and Julie Newmar as my second. I reinacted the dance and fight scenes. I knew Russ Tamblyn was a miscast as the youngest brother, it was supposed to be me.
And Howard Keel was supposed to be my brother. Most of the songs are good. I particularly like the barn rasing scene.
