Review of Seven Beauties (1975) by Jeff B — 23 Aug 2010
I loved this movie, sort of a more â??matureâ?? version of Life is Beautiful (i.e. a comedic take on WWII/the Holocaust). The opening is excellent and unique and it just gets better and better. Giancarlo Giannini is incredible as the title character, he brings so much life and emotion to the role, itâ??s amazing.
And I think itâ??s awesome that Lina Wertmuller got nominated for this, her direction is great, especially during the Nazi ladyâ??s room segment, it almost looked like a giallo film. I loved everything about this, itâ??s a masterpiece.
