Review of Setup (2011) by Don S — 22 Feb 2016
Not nearly as bad as the reviews said it would be, but it isn't a great movie. It throws some of the best actors it has going for it into secondary roles, and leaving Bruce Willis and Rnady Couture with not much screen time.
It's full of dumb moments, like the meat maker dude just putting a dead bossy through his meat shreader machine without hesitation, as well as the guy shooting himself in the head accidentally while playing with a gun.
Moments like these really screw up the movie. It has a good deal of clichà (C)s to fill it, and the movie feels kinda empty. There was stuff happening, but nothing that really mattered too much happened throughout the middle of the film.
The begining was ok, predictable, and the end was disappointing. Not only did our main character not kill Vincent as we hoped, but we never find out what happened to Biggs and the other guys from the shootout, we leave in the middle of it and don't find out what happened to anyone.
So ya the movie was ok, amusing at times but nothing special anywhere, although its better than the reviews had me expecting.
