Session 9 is a very creepy and atmospheric film. The lighting is perfect, and the cinematography is spot on. Like the movie Halloween, Session 9 uses everything available and gets creative in order to cover most conventional shortcomings.
The actors give some solid performances, and the film makes you feel claustrophobic. The mental hospital setting sets the tone, and the best parts are when the one character listens to the tapes of the mental patient Mary.
Overall, Session 9 showss that you don't need to have a lot to scare audiences. This nice little horror film proves that the genre horror is not dead yet. (pun intended).
