Review of Session 9 (2001) by Annette C — 03 Apr 2010
I didn't know anything about this film, not even who was in it. So imagine my immediate and sheer delight at seeing David Caruso (CSI Miami's Horatio) in one of the lead roles. And then a cameo from Paul Guilfoyle (CSI's Captain Brass).
However, all told, this was a disapointing film for me. I definitely wasn't as scary as I thought it might be, and to be honest the plot was a little confusing. Once you'd worked out what had happened you were left with a sense of "oh...was that it...I thought it was more complicated than that".
This could have been a superb psychological horror/thriller- much in the same group as Shutter Island- but it just missed the mark in a few areas.
