Review of Session 9 (2001) by David Ray G — 15 Aug 2012
A friend who knows a lot about cinema suggested this to me with raving reviews, and also given its exceptional cast, I decided to watch it.
I was underwhelmed. It's bizarre and almost disconnected, and the scene transitions don't have the proper flow. Despite the wonderful performances by everyone, and the creepy/eerie/dark atmosphere it envelops you with, the story needed better foundations.
As far as psychological thrillers go, this had a lot to offer, but unfortunately it was building to a disappointing climax - like a soufflé that flopped.
