Review of Session 9 (2001) by Dov D — 01 Oct 2012
Perhaps it's my soft spot for psych thrillers or my love of uniquely original scores; but for whatever reason, I enjoyed this movie far more than I know that it deserves to be enjoyed. Characters that are poorly written at times are somewhat saved by excellent acting (for the most part) but wind up plummeting into the spiraling climax of Session 9 that just barely pays off from a literal standpoint.
With those cons in mind, I highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys to be not just terrified, but disturbed to their very cores. This is a movie that's meaning and rhetoric expand exponentially if given time to digest.
