Review of Session 9 (2001) by Psypher P — 30 Nov 2008
Damn it, this is a tricky one. It's a good film, make no mistake; well acted, tense, creepy and well thought out but it's flawed and annoyingly so. Its main fault is with the cinematography (I think) - it looks cheap; when it tries to be atmospheric it looks like a soap-opera.
No doubt a budgetary issue but it does detract. That said, the ending is sufficiently pensive to deliver the final twist and it works very well.
