Review of Session 9 (2001) by Nicholas C — 02 Nov 2013
Serious creep factor in this slow-paced, character-driven story of asbestos removal at an abandoned mental hospital. No over-the-top gore and violence, just the constant awareness that something is not right--indeed, horribly wrong.
Old-school suspense only made more intense by the knowledge that the location--Danver's State Mental Hospital--was a REAL place; that the interior and exterior scenes are not filmed on sets, they are filmed at what is left of the real-life institution the workmen are hired to clean.
