Review of Serious Moonlight (2009) by Jonathan P — 06 May 2010
I seldom like whiny neurotic Meg Ryan movies, but this one is refreshingly different. The disconnect between her injured wife & violent torturer psyches is funny, as is her husband's responses.
Kudos, methinks, to Adrienne Shelly, the posthumous writer of this movie. She was setting trends in a noveau thinking (and more mature) woman's chickflick genre, and it's sad to know her life was so brutally snatched from her in a similar situation as depicted in this film.
Ryan also deserves a nod for being able to act so convincingly after her broken long marriage with Quaid.
