Review of Serial Mom (1994) by Michael L — 15 Nov 2008
Another wicked satire from John Waters, this time focusing on the absurdities of a seemingly urbane life in suburban Baltimore and the media love/hate affair with gore and violence (after all, aren't we all voyeurs of a sort for even watching this film?).
Still, it does have some nasty pacing issues (a seemingly never-ending climax that begins far too early on, followed by a segue into what could be an entirely different story) and other small problems that prevent it from being the greatest of Waters' camp classics.
Still, I really can't fault the excellent cast.
