Review of Sergeant York (1941) by Anna Marie F — 02 Feb 2008
Very well made film starring Gary Cooper in his first Oscar winning role. It's a good character driven film, I thought there was gonna be a lot of battle scenes in this film, but he doesn't go to war until more than an hour into the film.
Good performances (except maybe Gracie, man, she was way too giddy at times), and a deserved win for Cooper. Though it's a little more than two hours it went by rather quickly. One of the very good biopics from the early days of Hollywood.
