Review of Sergeant York (1941) by Adrian B — 04 Jun 2010
Gary Cooper's best film of them all. He holds the film up well the whole way and his acting is outstanding and believable. Also, his lack of knowledge that his character possesses just is utterly shocking and the fact who goes from southern hoodlam to reluctant enlistee in the army to a hero corporeal.
The film itself takes awhile to get going but Cooper is called for the army it really takes off and the excitment builds. It is an interesting film, but what I don't get is why did not learn about of Alvin York in history 12, which focused heavily on the US and Woodrow Wilson's contribution into the war? Great film.
