Review of Serenity (2015) by John M — 12 Apr 2012
I really liked the idea behind Serenity, but it was hard to watch it transform into your somewhat typical conspiracy movie with a sci-fi mask. It contained some very good action sequences, but they were too short lived and there was not enough of it.
The acting wasn't very good but the actors did have some decent chemistry. Basically, with this one you have to take the good w/ the bad. In the end, Serenity has some pretty clever maneuvers and was entertaining, but also was very forgettable.
There just wasn't enough to hold onto. I did like the script though, and the assassin (one of the few characters that wasn't too unoriginal for his own good) was pretty cool. All in all though, this wasn't as good as the hype that I've heard.
