Review of Serenity (2015) by Alastair H — 04 May 2012
Serenity was voted the best sci-fi film of all time recently. This is an excellent movie but it isn't good enough to deserve the "best ever" title. I loved the characters and some of the witty one-liners but it doesn't have the epic mythology or grandeur that Star Wars has.
Having said that, this is still top-notch sci-fi that manages to mix space opera with comedy successfully. The script is also excellent and is way ahead of anything Mr Lucas can write.
*I watched this for a second time after having seen the series and loved it. (2.4.07) (5.5.12).
