Review of Serenity (2015) by Hanif M — 20 Mar 2014
So, I ran into this movie two years ago and I thought it looked really interesting. A friend stopped me from watching it though and informed me that I had to watch the TV show first. So, did that, really liked it, and finally had the chance to watch it.
It's just as awesome as the show. I loved seeing all of the characters together again. I was worried that the writing would just feel like a two hour episode, but it was great. It was a great wrap up to the show.
Chiwetel Ejiofor was an awesome addition. One of my complaints about the show itself was that there was no figurehead, no one person to pin all of the characters, or the viewers, Alliance hate on. The movie finally gave us that person, and he delivered.
I also liked the additions of David Krumholtz and Sarah Paulson in bit roles. Overall, this is a how a TV show adaptation should be done.
