Review of Serenity (2005) by Nathan T — 06 Feb 2012
I absolutely love Firefly and was deeply saddened to learn that won't be antoher sries. However, Serenity is the perfect tie in, and possible conclusion, to the series. The characters are as brilliant as always.
Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin are great as Mal and Jayne, and Summer Glau finally gets her chance to shine as River. But by far the best character is the Operative. He is a truly great villain. He's intelligent, charismatic, ruthless and totally devoted to his cause.
While it does pull alittle bit of an X-Men 3 in regards to some characters, there's enough chemistry, emotion and humour to carry you along the two hour spectacle. A great, great sci-fi movie.
