Review of Serenity (2005) by Man With N — 30 May 2013
If you've seen and liked the show "Firefly," then you'll most likely think this is a great movie. The characters are real and so are their interactions with each other. The villain is menacing and so by the book that he will do anything to do his job.
The Reavers are back and just as menacing as ever. The whole story and social commentary doesn't seem forced. The action isn't forced and it is way more of a drama/sci-fi. You won't like it as much just going into the movie with all of these characters and not getting anything about them or why they are like the way they are with each other.
Watching the show will tell you exactly how all of them are a family, in and out of the show. The show's better than the movie but this is as great as a movie version of Firefly can get.
