Review of Serendipity (2001) by Dominika X — 29 Aug 2010
What is up with me lately? I would never have watched anything like this before, but apparently I'm becoming a helpless romantic apparently. All joking aside, this was actually a really sweet movie.
What works quite well is the casting. There's something about John Cusack that just makes him super likable in this film. Kate Beckinsale does a goof job as well and outa nowhere Jeremy Piven as John Cusacks best friend was a real treat because he's hilarious!
The movies whole theme is about unexpected occurrences that are part of some overall destiny of people. I really enjoyed this whole "everything happens for a reason" theme. It brings the story to a full closing circle and the ending is just wonderful if I may say so.
This was a really good story, although predictable I really enjoyed this film. If you've never seen it definitely give it a look.
